Merry Christmas

(Josh's letter was super short this week in anticipation for our Christmas call.)
Hey Dad...
You aren't a cheap imitation of Mom, ha ha. But hey, maybe you're not an expensive one either, ha ha. jk jk.

I just can't imagine what the weather's like there. Here it's HOT...and sometimes it's REALLY HOT! That's crazy that you already cancelled a day of church because of the snow. I'll bet Mom was pumped...ha, ha.

Christmas Lights

Familia!

Hey guys! This week was a little better. Fetch I still cant believe that I'm gonna be an uncle, ha.  Plan on me calling you on the 25th. Can't wait to talk to you guys. That's funny about the snow...how it was hardcore and now it's almost gone. Here there's not too much snow..ha, ha. There is a massive Christmas tree stacked with lights...I hope you enjoy the pic.
O yeah, my comp had like an awakening this last weekend. He asked me how I felt about contacting and he felt super guilty because all we had been doing was talking to the one recent convert. So he hammered down and one night we fasted till I contacted a family. It was fetching stressful but good also. I hope he keeps that attitude. We had a lesson today too. This homie is ready to be thrown into the water.lol One of his first questions was how long before he can be baptized. It was great!

That's so cool about all the stuff Alexis is doing.  "don't kids just grow up so fast"...ha.

I Don't Miss the Snow :)

My week was good, but it was probably like the second slowest week so far.  I think it's because my comp wants to chill at a recent convert's house most of the time...kinda frustrating.
That's gonna be so awesome here in three months when I actually get my Christmas package..ha ha.
I think out of all of the things from home, making music is the thing I miss the very most. I really just want to chill and play piano to my heart's content.
I'm so glad not to be feeling the cold. I do not miss starting my car early and scraping off the windshield :))
The Mission President made an announcement that he is gonna try as hard as possible to keep missionaries in their areas for at least 6 months...which sucks because I am literally in the worst area in the whole fetchin mission. The new set of elders live kinda near us which is good. I get along better now with the latinos than I do with the new gringos in our zone. I'm just used to joking in Spanish I guess...ha ha ha.
Well ya'll... I'm gonna let you guys go. Here's a "beep beep hey" to sign out.. ha! Can't wait to talk to ya on Christmas day!

Lago de Managua

Fammy!

I am in the part of Managua called Acahualinca. So you've got lots of snow...I already forgot what it feels like but I'm glad I don't have it here. I've gotten pretty used to the heat so when it's 80degrees I feel cold.
The showers here are blah. You don't dare take your foot of of the flop or you'll get Leptospirosis or something like that. Our's is pretty nice though. My comp drinks right out of the faucet and I have too. He says my stomach must be pretty strong because I've only been sick once...the second week I was here, and haven't since. Not many gringos can eat cheese, but I don't have problems with it. I have had to bathe out of a bucket because we ran out of water..ha ha. We're supposed to buy water but I have a sick water bottle with a filter that crunks out the bad stuff.
I'm going to be with my Papa at least one more cambio. The area I'm in is getting another pair of elders even though our area is quite small. My comp is not happy about that.
It's going to be salvage when Navidad comes and we talk. I hope I don't sound too different and have problems talking in English..ha. I'm pumped to get a Christmas package:))
I love the fetch out of you guys!

First Baptism

Almost Thanksgiving

Dear Fam,
This week has been fine. We had another baptism this Saturday and I confirmed her yesterday. We don't have too many investigators right now but we are hopefully going to have more with the referrals we received. We're going to teach the cousin of the one we baptized and her mom tomorrow. Transfers are next Wednesday. I really like my zone...I get along with all of them and my comp is pretty cool too. The language is good. I understand everything my comp says and most of the time I get along fine talking to the people. I've been told that I have a "Nica" accent and that I speak Spanish pretty well. (Thank goodness for the gift of tongues.)
Fetch...I thought Thanksgiving was last week...man I'm a caballo.lol  I wish I could be there to chow the fetch down on some food, but I'll just be here eating rice and beans and maybe a piece of dry cheese and cow tongue yum...ha, ha.
Luv you guys,
Elder Diamante

First weeks in Nicaragua

Hey everyone...
I can't believe Ive been gone three months. I'm doing pretty good.  Just a few things...my comp is from El Salvador and is 6 foot six inches and like 250 pounds. Massive, but we get along.  We eat guaranteed every meal either rice or beans. The weather is crazy hot...like 110 degrees and mosquitoes are everywhere. I just use a lot of bug spray every night. There's a lady in every ward who's assigned to do the missionaries' laundry...no one here has washing machines....just sinks with groves made of concrete.
This country can be a pretty awesome place.
