Hey ya'll,  I'm going to get a new comp this Wednesday. They told me a week early so I could go to a training meeting to prepare all the trainers ha. But it's all good.  This was the first Sunday since I was with my trainer that I didn't have an investigator in church... it was pretty depressing...not gonna lie...but whatevs.  When I'm with my new kid we are gonna work our fetching booties off! I'm super happy though because  I get to stay in my area, and it's a guarantee that I will be in this area for at least two more changes =) Because of the new training program you have to be with your kid two changes...I love it here!

Having success

Hey peeps,
My comp and I are doing so well. We are having tons of success and we really don't even have that much time but it's super great. We just chill and work our butts off...haha. Here if there weren't missionaries the Church would have already fallen or wouldn't exist here at least.  So like me and my comp had to bless the sacrament this Sunday cuz no one showed up because of this crazy-rad storm, and then the branch president announced that my comp and I were gonna have to talk as well. haha. It was so ridiculous with ten seconds of prep haha. love it.
Well my good homies, I'll chat at ya later. Never forget I love you guys and I am incredibly blessed to be a part of the family.

The Week of August 29, 2011

Josh leading a hymn at a baptism :)

Elder Dimond has completed ONE FULL YEAR!

Celebration!!!

HALFWAY DONE!!!!!!!!!!
Hope you like the pics of me and my Costa Rican comp. To celebrate, we burned some shirts and ate pizza and cake ha. It really doesn't feel like I have one year done. My comp is super. We really get along super well but he already has 6 months in the area so without fail he's gonna have changes after this one. In answer to your questions: the bus I was on for 3 hours actually did have a bunch of weird stuff like huge blocks of cheese and corn husks and huge baskets of crap haha. And we always have power but the water goes out a lot. I finally got a shower without a bucket for the first time in like 8 months haha.
My area doesnt have the actual farms but its super farm-like. With all the workers and crap hah. it makes me think of my last area just with tons of hills but the people are great. I love contacting now. We mash out like 30 each day! ha.

We have interviews this Thursday. It's been like three months since my last one . . . but oh well.
This week started our alright like normal, but on Friday we just went nuts. We did divisions and just burned our area. We did 91 contacts! And it was so nuts. So things are going a little better. Just keep praying for us so that we can keep this fire going.
I'm getting a suit made!!! haha here you can get custom suits for 50 bucks. So "yeah baby!!!"
Oh by the way I never told you, but my new comp's name is Montenegro.
Well . . .till next week

My Nautica Cologne Spoof  Pic LOL

P-Day

New companion

My new comp is doing good. We get along really well. We laugh all the time. He reminds me so much of Alex haha. The only diff is that he's from Panama.
About the missionary work...I just feel like I do so much without any results. I dunno... my old comp is doing really well also. He doesn't like his area but he is moving so many people.
Today we went to this like sweet castle place. It was pretty great. But fetch I'm a little discouraged because of the people... like my area is still great, but they just aren't as pumped as they used to be... whatevs :)
Hope you like my pics.

New pics

Elder Tax and Elder Dimond on the road to nowhere.lol

Hey ya'll,
Freak, you've been having weiner roasts? A weiner roast sounds SO good right now. For the zone meeting we ate pancakes that the sister missionaries made..  They were bomb dot com :)
That's so weird how the weather is there. Here the weather is super random. Like... it rains really super hard but you never really know which days that it's gonna rain...haha. But I hope you like the pics: "The road to nowhere", and the "big puddles" haha. I dont have a lot of time but know that  I love you guys and cant wait to hear from you next week.

Hey,
This week seriously flew by SO fetching fast! We have been so busy. It really just went ...no kidding.  We are always on divisions and we work so much. This weekend we're gonna baptize a few people...like two families I think. I'm including a pic of the family that we baptized last Saturday. We married them too. They are really super!
Tell the rain to stop.haha Here is rains every morning and then in the afternoon it's just cloudy. But in the morning it rains SO hard!  Well I'm on a crappy computer but I hope you like the pics of the baptism and of the Family Night we did where like fifty peeps showed up.ha!

People we brought to church

Hey Dudes,
We have been doing really well. The rain has started and it's wreaking havoc! I was super lucky and I got my other boot on Wednesday just in time for my b-day and for the fetching rain. It was nuts. It rains so fetching hard here.
I saw a giant spider on the road as we were walking to help an investigator make tortillas so that she could go to church. We woke up at 4 to get to her house at 5 to help her out and to learn how to throw some tortillas. It was sweet man. We brought a bunch of people...like 20...  Hope you enjoy the pic hahahaha. With the rain and everything it all turned out great. Yea we just found out the cambios but I'm not nor is my comp going anywhere. So I'm pumped to just chill and crunk my area to bizness. Well I can't write too much cuz of the time.

Working hard...yeah :)

Hey Fam,
We seriously have been working miracles here in this area. Yesterday we brought 8 people to church. They are so positive. I love it. And we found 71 new investigators last week. We worked our little butts off and I am so fetching tired, but I love having this many people and the success that we're having. I have learned so fetching much. We have been doing divisions with members so that we can get more done and I love finally having the resposibility to talk more and helping people with their problems. And just knowing that completing the goals is up to me. I love it.
Uh ...a big negatron on getting the packages you sent. And I'm going to send one to you next week. Because I bought some stuff....I really wasnt thinking. I bought something really big that I cant carry for the next 16 months. ha  And the Nike shoes I brought, I'm gonna send back also.
Ainsley is getting married?? The first from my generation that's giving into the temptation.haha Tell her congrats for me, mmmmmmkay? And tell Gramps to write to me, k?

Masaya is amazing :)

This place is amazing! I have only been here almost two weeks and I have grown so much spiritually. This week helped me realize why we do this two-year-non-vacation. We found this sister that has been inactive for ten years, and seriously I have never felt the spirit as strong as when she said the prayer when we were heading out. It was like this feeling of love that has no description.  Then yesterday I felt it again. It was with this sister that's an investigator. She's just a teenager but  I've seen her change so much. The first time I met her, she didn't pay any attention and wouldn't do anything. Then last week I got her to read the Book of Mormon and she said that she felt something different when she read it. Last night we were with her and I could feel the spirit just a bit and my comp was talking to her about how she thought she'd receive her answer. Then I just felt the spirit basically hit me. I asked her how she feels when we come to her house and teach her. She thought for a minute and said that it's a feeling that is different from anything before. I testified that I felt it too and that it is the spirit answering her prayer. It was amazing. I love Masaya! ( the area I'm in)

p.s. There was an earthquake here...a pretty big one. But we were walking in the street and didnt feel it much. ha ha

An amazing family

New companion & area! =)

My week was super sickkk!!! And guess what?? After 6 months of the same comp I dont have him as a comp anymore. And I'm not even close to the area I was in! This just what I needed. A complete fresh start on everything. The Lord knows us and exactly what we need to have success in His work. They took both me and Elder Rojas out of the area Lezcano and they put two other elders there. He is still in the city of Managua in a place called Univeritaria, and I am in a completely different world! It is in no means a city. Every...(with emphasis on every), street is of dirt. All the houses are made of tin and nothing else. Some places don't have electricity. It is amazing. my zone is called Masaya! It is seriously the promised land of the mission. Last month they baptized 36 people and the leaders here are great! I just have such a desire to work hard and I love doing it. I've only been here for like 4 days but they've all been super ill! My comp is Elder Tax. He's from Guatemala and he is great. He wants to work hard. He is suuupppperrrr short. Ha, I went from giant to dwarf haha! But yeah, he's super humble and just has a desire to do what's right. I love it.
That's sweet you guys keep getting to see Spenser and Michaela and the wee tot. Makes me wanna see them haha.

Oye Compadres!

You kinda made me almost close to jealous cuz you're all together writing this and I am here in the oven of Nicaragua... haha just kidding guys. It really just made me feel really good hearing from all of you scoundrels haha. You guys are so awesome. And those pics are so dope man. Like I wanna try out that April Fool's stuff. It looks better than the food here and I will guarantee that it tastes better too haha! Nah just kidding the food is alright.

Conference was great. I just really got the message that I needed to get myself married the instant I get back or I am a sinner. Like Richard G. Scott layed the machete to all of us ha. It was kinda funny. Oh yeah on Saturday we had to watch it on the channel in Portuguese, the audio from the sacrament room in Spanish and the subtitles in English. What a weird world I am livin in haha. This place is so ghetto. The Sunday sessions we actually got to watch on a computer that was like 5 minutes behind cuz the internet wasn't too great, but the chair was actually pretty nice.

About my comp - I'm sure he's as sick of me as I am of him haha. Like it has been six months that we've put up with each other. But we find out if we have changes today. So who knows we might be together longer and we might not ha. He just completed a year in the mish so he's half way done.

It is so crazy to think that in only one more month I'll get to talk to you guys again. Like it was no lie when they said you hit six months the time goes super fast. It's nuts ya'll. But really I am super excited to talk to you. I have some funny stories to tell haha. And now my Español is better so I for sure have to talk to Spensizzle this time ha.

Well dudes and dudettes your email was super sweet. I love you guys.

Finally a new area...

Hey Ya'll,
This morning I got moved in the emergency changes so I'm in a new area finally.....The funny thing about it is the area is only across the street. I thought maybe I'd get a new comp but that didn't happen.  But we're opening a new area so it's cool because we'll both be new here. So it's all good.
I can't wait to bring you guys here and show you all the great places. I know you're really going to love it here. Once you get past the creepy places there really is a lot of beauty here!

Oh I finally got my Christmas package...the chocolates are awesome! Thank you so much!!! I love all the stuff!

...more news next week

Monday, January 17, 2011

Well another week has already gone by. That is sooo crazy that the temp is so low there. My body just can't picture snow and wearing a coat and layers anymore...all it wants to do is cool down all the time.
And that's still a big negative on the package. I'm pretty sure that it's in the office but so many people got packages for Christmas that there are tons there, so it's taking forever cuz they do only three every p-day cuz they can't carry them all. Lame!

Haha-That's pretty funny that Dad had to speak for 15 min at Ward Conference. That's what he gets for making me talk that long at my farewell hahaha. Last Sunday I had to give a talk for 10 and just tore it up. Talking in Spanish doesn't make me nervous haha, it's so much easier.

The best fam in the mish!

L to R:my dad Rojas, my grandpa Thorpe, my greatgrandpa Milian and me
Howdy ya'll,
That's way cool that Dan and Bracc are working toward missions. I really hope they keep progressing. I'd really like to write to Bracc but it is so hard and such a pain to write by paper.          Hey...I sent a package to you guys and it seriously took like 45! They are so strict about security in this place. But hey, I think I'm finally gonna get the Christmas package on Wednesday when we have the cambio meeting. There are a bunch of packages but they can't deliver them cuz there are too many, so we all have to wait unless its a small one. I got a couple things from the ward like the primary sent me some rings and articulos de fe but in English. They really are useful here where no one speaks english haha jk. But it was a nice gesture anyway.
Last night we made some baptism dates... haha. and they're pretty cool so I'm pretty sure that they'll let us throw them in this month.
I got a card from the Harrisons and fetch, Patty is so fetchin tall, but Alex still looks about the same. I hope he's doing good. I really pray for him a lot. I really want him to do well. Plus they said that they are helping Gloria with the church.

Well Mama' the package I sent today is for you. It's for your b-day and sorry its gonna be a little late. Maybe you'll get to enjoy it for Valentine's Day haha. I think you'll like it.

I don't get to play the piano very much here but I always try to remember that one song cuz its salvaje.

Sorry I dont have pics this week. We didn't do anything too sweet this week.

Elder Diamante

ps. goose honk right back at ya ;)

Friday, January 7, 2011

Dear Famila,
Last week wasn't very productive because the people were so drunk, but oh well. That's way cool that Gloria is getting taught by the missionaries. I need to write back to her but I really don't  have time to sit and write a paper letter. How does she like the lessons?
That is sooo crazy that Spenser is a daddy!!!! I really just can't picture it in my head...and me being an uncle really doesn't feel real. It won't hit me till I get home and stuff...haha and now you guys really are OLD huh? jk jk. That's so crazy that you're grandparents.
Oh yeah...Spenser's car you fixed looks really nice and the paint is all "fancy". Now you'll have to fix up the Red Bull and make it a sick ride for me...haha!
That's cool that Hubbard is doing well on his mish...and that dad has talked to Bracc and Harry.
I really miss hanging out with them.  Those two better go on missions!

We have transfers next Wednesday but I'll find out if I'm changing before i write next time.

Well I'll hit you up next week,
Elder Diamante

You guys had better be keeping the "Tusken Raider call" going strong cuz i'm forgetting all my cool qualities like that ;)
